Diggy Simmons lands BET TV show pilot

Up and coming rapper and former reality star Diggy Simmons has landed his very own TV show pilot with BET.

The 17-year-old is set to star in the two-hour original comedy, which has been given the initial name of The Untitled Diggy Simmons Project

BET green lighted the show and it will be directed by husband and wife Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil, while Diggy aka Daniel Dwayne Simmons, will play the main character named Blake.
The movie will also star Allen Maldonado as Manny who plays Blake's best friend, and Teyana Taylor as Tiana who is Manny's twin sister. Eddie Murphy’s daughter Bria also features as Manny’s girlfriend Nia.

The Untitled Diggy Simmons Project is said to have an Entourage-type theme to it, and takes an edgy look at Diggy’s life as a blogger along with his loyal group of friends who hold him down, as he makes his way to the top.

The backdoor pilot will be shot later this year and is being created by the same team behind Sparkle.
