Grant Bowler in "Da Man" magazine

True Blood actor Grant Bowler opens up to Da Man magazine in the publications newest issue.
Grant Bowler: I Hang With 'True Blood' Friends All The Time!

On playing Coot, the biker werewolf: Coot is a redneck biker werewolf, who is the leader (alpha male) of a particularly nasty bunch of werewolves. To get into Coot, I let go of all of the niceties of being a civilized man, and do whatever feels good, in an id-driven way."

On starting his career in a Shakespeare company: Starting out a career in a Shakespeare Company was the best grounding I could have wished for. I fell in love with the classics, with touring and with performing in repertory. Doing three different plays in the space of 36 hours is a challenge I'd love to take on again at some point in my career now to find the time!"

On making new friends from True Blood: My favorite cast-mates have been Steve Moyer, Anna Paquin, Brit Morgan, Dennis O'Hare and Joe Manganiello. I hang with them all the time."

Shirtless actor du jour Joe Slaughter

BULGEBULGEBULGE

Joe Slaughter climbs out of a pool in this shot from his shirtless spread for Da Man magazine. Here’s what the sexy Step Up 3D dancer had to share:

On his role in the film:
I play the role of Julien, Natalie’s brother and Luke’s arch nemesis. I guess you could say I am the villain or ‘bad boy’ of the film, my character likes to stir up all of the trouble.

On finding inspiration from old Hollywood dancers:
I think my mom was the one to initially introduce me to Singin’ in the Rain. For some reason, after I watched it for the first time, I just couldn’t get enough! I literally watched it on a daily basis for like a year straight! Eventually, I started watching other Gene Kelly films along with films starring classic actors such as Fred Astaire and Donald O’Connor. If you are interested in learning about the fundamentals of dance and stage presence, these films will open your eyes. These classic old films were shot in one take on an enormous, wide-open set. The actors had just one opportunity to bring everything they had to the table and give it all to the camera in this one take.

On how his family and friends describe him:
After acknowledging that I dance everywhere I go - seriously I never stop - I think they would say I am goofy and I am obsessed with discovering and showing YouTube videos. I am also lighthearted and never take life too seriously, because life is too short to worry or get caught up with nonsense!

Some minor details about Joseph Gordon-Levitt's movie, Live With It.

You know what's not a good title for a movie? "Untitled Cancer Comedy." Of course, that was never what the film was going to roll with, but that's what we have been referring to the upcoming Seth Rogen/Joseph Gordon-Levitt movie as for the past few months. Originally titled I'm With Cancer, the title mysteriously disappeared a while back, but now they have come up with a new name and it's pun-tastic.

Rama's Screen is reporting that film is now titled Live With It. Based on the life of producer Will Reiser, Gordon-Levitt stars as a 25-year-old who is diagnosed with a rare and terminal form of cancer. The rest of the cast, made up of Rogen, Bryce Dallas Howard, Angelica Huston, Ana Kendrick, and Philip Baker Hall, play people in the character's life as he tries to process the news.
Okay, so it's not a great title and it includes a pun, but at least it makes sense (I'm looking at you Knight and Day). Besides, aren't you glad that this movie took that title instead of a dumb romantic comedy? This movie has Joseph Gordon-Levitt - it deserves some leeway.
